‘Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same’ To Play At N.Y.C MOMA

Check out this intergalactic lesbian romance at a special performance in New York.

Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same has invaded film festivals around the world, garnering rave reviews at this year’s Sundance festival. While we anxiously await the sci-fi gem’s DVD release, New Yorkers can check it out on the big screen this month at the Museum of Modern Art.

Fresh off the indie festival circuit, out filmmaker Madeleine Olnek’s first feature-length movie puts a Sapphic spin on the sci-fi B-movie, weaving a tender tale of a lonely earthling’s romance with a beautiful (and bald) lady alien. Using all the tropes typical of the genre—cheesy Theremin music wobbling ominously, tinfoil spacecrafts—Olnek’s film is sure to delight late-night-moviegoers from any planet.

Film critics and movie buffs aren’t the only ones who have praised Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same, the movie just earned a Gotham Independent Film Awards nomination for “Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You.” If you live in New York City, the film will be playing at a theater near you sometime in mid-November at the Museum of Modern Art—check the movie’s websites for details (codependentlesbianspacealienseekssame.com).
