New Campaign Video Focuses On LGBT Rights

Hillary Clinton’s new ad prominently features same-sex couples kissing.

In the most recent campaign ad for presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton, she continues to promote LGBT rights.

The video is a combination of clips of same-sex couples kissing and embracing while sections from Clinton’s speeches promoting equal rights can be heard.

The most prominent clip comes from the former Secretary of State’s recent Human Rights Campaign speech.

While a montage of couples is shown, Clinton is heard saying, “It’s outrageous that in 2015 you can still be fired for being gay, you can still lose your home for being gay, you can even be denied a wedding cake for being gay. This kind of discrimination goes against everything we stand for as a country. I’m running for president to stand up for the fundamental rights of LGBT Americans and all Americans.”

Last month, Jim Obergefell pledged his support for Clinton. He said, “We have fought to not only change laws, but to change hearts, and now we need a president who will help us fight to eliminate the injustice that occur regularly in our community, and the best person to do that is Hillary Clinton.”

Although Clinton has met challenges based on previous statements towards LGBT rights, she has spoken in favor of the Equality Act, which aims to ban anti-LGBT discrimination.
