Things Heating Up For The Hot Teas

With their mellow sounds and tight harmonies, indie queer acoustic duo The Hot Teas have been making a name for themselves in the Illawarra region

Recently featured on local ABC radio, their music has started gathering a new following.

Consisting of bass/vocalist Hayley Neal and guitar/vocalist Lucy Mills, the team most notably were selected as one of the few musical acts featured in Wollongong's first RAW Artists showcase; an event which saw a crowd of more than 900 people gracing The Wollongong Town Hall.

You'd be forgiven for mistaking them as the hilarious lesbian comedy act Pretty Plain, who have been seen in such venues as Sydney's Sly Fox and The Comedy Store. No strangers to success, their previous work as a musical comedy duo saw them take the gong in several stand-up heats around NSW, including the prestigious Raw Comedy state finals.

At Lizottes Restaurant's 'Live & Local' though, they will be looking to entertain with good ol' rock classic numbers and putting in the mix some of their own original pieces. You can be sure though that a little bit of fun banter between them with still come out. Lizottes Restaurant itself has been voted as Sydney's top best entertainment restaurant and prides itself on booking high quality acts.

Neal said “we try to make our shows entertaining, not just through our music, but through showing to our audience that we are genuinely having a great time on stage."
