Looking To Interview Lesbians Who Had Breast Cancer

Lesbians with breast cancer: Are your voices heard?

A PhD student is seeking interviews with lesbians who have had breast cancer to assist in her research paper.

Speaking with LOTL, Alexandra Gibson commented: that  “amongst other diverse groups of women, I’m looking for same-sex attracted women who have/have had breast cancer to participate in interviews for a PhD project in Psychology at the University of Queensland.

“I’m really interested in hearing your stories about your experiences of breast cancer, and what you found helpful or difficult.  I hope to identify factors that help same-sex attracted women, and any concerns or difficulties that you would like addressed.  I’ll be creating a booklet of diverse women’s stories, to provide a resource for other women to help them through breast cancer. “

Gibson says interviews will be conducted over the phone and will last about 60 minutes.

If you would like to take part or have any questions, please contact Alexandra Gibson, at [email protected] or 0413 1142 859, or please see her  website for more details .
