Have you been to Velvet Jacks yet?

Winner of Brighton’s Best Women’s Bar 🐚

Velvet Jacks Brighton is a small, independent women's bar on one of the main roads in the city – one street back from the seafront, and with a glimpse of the sea.

With a south facing front complete with tables and chairs, the sun shines down on us all day long. On top of that, it's a busy walkway which makes it a great place to grab a drink and watch the locals pass you by.

The bar itself is very rustic and the surrounding panels are all made from reclaimed wood. Our ceiling and walls on the other hand, give the place a very Mediterranean feel – very different and very stylish.

Enough about the interior design! We've been open now for three years and became well-established very quickly…

In our first year, we were voted second best women's bar in Brighton by G Scene Magazine, and last year we were delighted to win the top position, being voted Best Women's Bar in Brighton.

We're a lovely, friendly local bar that lots of women on the local scene appreciate and love. We really believe we have a unique and warm vibe that'll make you and your's feel welcomed, comfortable, and most importantly… fabulous!

Our crowd is a real mixture of LGBTQ+ women, lovely locals from all walks of life, couples and groups looking to enjoy our cocktails or a glass of wine, visitors of Brighton, and of course, those passers by.

We have the finest quality wines by the glass or bottle, each carefully chosen and selected. We also embrace local Sussex wines, including Chapel Down and Bolney Bubbly.

As well as being the Best Women's Bar, we are in the top seven cocktail bars in Brighton and our cocktails and gin bowls pull in the crowds from all over the city.

Our Espresso Martini – of which we have Salted Caramel, Chocolate Orange and Baileys and use the finest ingredients in – are our best sellers, keeping all of the locals and newcomers happy.
