Filmmaker JD Disalvatore Launches New “No-Kill” Animal Documentary

New documentary on what it takes to rescue unwanted animals in America.

Lesbian filmmaker and activist JD Disalvatore has produced many engaging and award-winning LGBT films over the years including Shelter, A Marine Story, Elena Undone, Gay Propaganda, and Eating Out 2.

Now, the producer/director is spreading the word about her newest passion project. How To Save A Dog is a documentary project that provides an inside look at what it takes to rescue animals in America. In addition to the feature documentary, 20-30 free educational videos will be made for social media to inform and engage anyone interested in helping make America a “no-kill” nation.

Currently, the rescue community in Los Angeles is working towards making the city “no-kill.” This means no animals would be euthanized to free up space.

Disalvatore is currently raising funds through a crowdfunding campaign. The funds will go towards renting and buying filming equipment, hiring crews and the post production process.
