The Color Of Queer

Painter Mando exhibits exciting new work at Agora Gallery.

The exhibition, “Elemental Realms,” at the fine arts Agora Gallery in Chelsea, New York City will feature the artwork of LGBTQ activist and artist Mando. The exhibition opens on February 10, 2015 and continues until March 3, 2015. The opening reception takes place on the evening of February 12, at 6-8pm. Any art lover who enjoys thought-provoking artworks and meeting talented and interesting artists is encouraged to attend.

Mando, also known as Amanda Wand, creates abstract canvases with bright acrylic paintings in rhythmic patters that are full of life and emotion.

Driven by what she is feeling as she paints, Mando creates vibrant works bursting with intense color and movement, and shapes that seem natural, organic, and yet also abstract and atmospheric. She is often inspired by social inequality to express herself, and she depicts culture clashes with warring colors, revealing the passion and energy behind these competing forces.

Other artists in the exhibition include: Laura Carina Azcue ,  Irina Kassabova, Sandi Pillsbury , Elke Wree, Chantal Le Brun, Véronique Coen  and others.
