El Canto del Colibri’ delves into issues of immigration, prejudice, and isolation.

Award-winning documentary El Canto Del Colibri by Marco Castro-Bojorquez finished its major festival tour at the Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival, Outfest.  The documentary played at over 30 international film festivals, including screenings in Ecuador, Mexico, Spain, and throughout the United States.

It was awarded Best Documentary Audience Choice Award at the CinHomo Muestra de Cine LGBT Valladolid in Spain as well as Best Documentary by the Juray at I Can [be] Gay: 3º Festival Internacional de Cine LGBTIQ de Canarias.

This groundbreaking documentary is the first film of its kind. El Canto Del Colibri features Latino immigrant fathers discussing acceptance of their LGBTQ children.  The 53-minute documentary delves deeply into issues of immigration, prejudice, and isolation.

The film was created directly within the queer and Latinx communities, including San Francisco community partners Somos Familia and BAYCAT Productions, as well as Lambda Legal and Familia: Trans Queer Liberation Movement.

El Canto Del Colibri will be available on Vimeo for both VOD rental and purchase on August 23rd during an exclusive launch.
