Telemundo’s ‘Latinx Now!’ Celebrates Pride Month With “My Journey,” A Weekly Series Highlighting LGBTQ+ Latinx Stars

In celebration of Pride Month, Telemundo’s “Latinx Now!” launched the special weekly series “My Journey,” highlighting Latinx celebrities that are part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Throughout the month of June, “Latinx Now!” will feature an exclusive video every Friday with renowned artists sharing an intimate, in-depth look at their personal journey and life experiences. The series will culminate with a special “Pride Day” episode on Sunday, June 28, hosted by influencers Christian Acosta, Nastassja Bolivar and Claudia Vergara, as well as members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies, who will explain why pride is important and what Pride Month means to them.

“My Journey” kicked-off June 5 with music star Joy Huerta from the award-winning Latin pop duo Jesse y Joy. She shared her personal story, the reason why she decided to come out to her fans and discusses her relationship with her wife and daughter. Click here to watch Huerta’s interview.

The series continued with Wilson Cruz on June 12, an openly gay actor known for his roles on popular shows such as “My So-Called Life,” “Noah’s Arc,” “Star Trek: Discovery,” and “13 Reasons Why.” In his interview, Cruz defined what pride means to him, spoke about the obstacles he faced before coming out and gave advice to those struggling to come out.  Click here to watch Cruz’s interview.

“Latinx Now!” will also feature the following personalities in upcoming episodes of “My Journey”:

  • Ser Anzoategui – June 19 – Actor best known for playing Eddy on “Vida” and Daysi Cantu on “East Los High”
  • Christian Chavez – June 26 – Actor and singer best known for being part of the popular Mexican pop music group “RBD” and the series “La Casa de las Flores” (The House of Flowers).

The “My Journey” series is part of Comcast NBCUniversal’s initiatives to support LGBTQ+ culture during the 50th anniversary of Pride Month this year through the curation of new programming, grant giving and employee outreach. “Latinx Now!” is the first-ever, total-market entertainment program produced in English and Spanish for bicultural audiences across the U.S. and Latin America. The 30-minute show covers the latest news stories in entertainment, candid interviews with celebrities, and highlights talent in fashion, style, beauty and more, with a focus on creating culturally-relevant content that provides crossover appeal and addresses Hispanic passion-points and interests.

Viewers can watch full episodes of “Latinx Now!” online through the Telemundo Entretenimiento and E! News YouTube channels. The program broadcasts Saturdays at midnight on Telemundo, and at 1am Wednesdays and 10am Saturdays on UNIVERSO. Full episodes are also available through the Telemundo app (available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store).
