Lesbian Drinking Game

Sweden is a place that truly welcomes all…

We all know that Sweden is by far one of the most LGBT+ welcoming countries in the world. Diversity and inclusion is really important to the people there and as a result, it’s a fantastic travel destination for lesbian, bi and trans women.

2019 heralds the 75th anniversary of the decriminalization of homosexuality in the country, a high milestone while the rest of the world celebrates 50 years since the Stonewall Riots.

It’ll also be 10 years since equal marriage, so Sweden has a lot to be proud of.

Regarded as one of the world’s most "Open Cities" – a beautiful destination with an inclusive scene for women. In the summer, the largest Pride festival in Scandinavia, Stockholm Pride, takes place in a fun-filled rainbow celebration.

But whatever the time of year, Stockholm also has an astounding foodie scene and a passion for culture – art, architecture and design.

Gothenburg is another fabulous Swedish city. Each year, the city kicks off the summer season with West Pride, plus it’s a summer full of festivals like Way Out West and Sommerburst.

The city is also the gateway to the gorgeous archipelago so comes as no surprise that Gothenburg boasts fresh seafood and innovative farm to table cuisine.

From the world’s densest concentration of Michelin stars considering its population, to everyday eats, Gothenburg is sure to delight foodies.

But wherever you go in the country, Sweden is a place that truly welcomes you regardless of where you come from, who you love or whatever your interests.

It really is a place that is open to everyone…

Magazine editors are great barometers when it comes to deciding what your next holiday destination should be. After all, it is their job to journey the world and try out the best experiences so they can tell their readers about what each place offers.

VisitSweden talked to four international LGBT+ magazine editors, including our own Roxy Bourdillon and asked them what it is they love most about the country.

Read what they have to say and be inspired. Then all you need to do is enter the prize draw and you may win a holiday to Sweden…
