Web Series: Beacon Hill

Emmy Award winning actress Crystal Chappell of Open Books Productions (“Venice” and “The Grove”) and Linda and Jessica Hill of Bella Books and Bella Productions have teamed up to produce the new and exciting web series “Beacon Hill.”

Premiering March 5th on-line at BeaconHillTheSeries.com, the series is a political drama that centers on two Boston families at opposite ends of the political spectrum.  While politics pit the two family patriarchs squarely against each other, it’s the relationships between the younger generations that create conflict and drama on Beacon Hill.  Ultimately, “Beacon Hill,” written by Linda and Jessica Hill, is a story about family, relationships and politics!

“When we sat down to write Beacon Hill, we ended up writing the story that we wanted to see on television.  As book publishers, what interests us the most is the story.  We have tremendous respect for great storytelling, character development and building richly layered narratives.  That’s what we’ve tried to do with Beacon Hill.  We’re thrilled that it has allowed us the opportunity to express all of that in a different medium.”

The show focuses on the two female leads Sara Preston (Alicia Minshew, “All My Children”) and Katherine Wesley (Sarah Brown,  three-time Emmy award winner formerly of “General Hospital,” “Bold and the Beautiful” and “Days of Our Lives.”)  Beacon Hill’s stellar cast and crew includes notable actors from various daytime dramas under the direction of Albert Alarr of “Days of Our Lives” and is executive produced by Crystal Chappell (“Bold and Beautiful,” “Days of Our Lives” and “Guiding Light”) and Ricky Paull Goldin (“Bold and the Beautiful, “Guiding Light”) along with supervising producer Hillary Bailey Smith (“One Life to Live.”)

Linda and Jessica decided to go with a subscription model.  The choices were to offer sponsorships and run advertising or to go with the subscription route.  They decided to go with an advertising-free subscription plan for at least the first year at $9.99 for 12 episodes.  Their hope is to establish the show and attract sponsorship going forward.  “We’re in this for the long haul and want to continue to produce Beacon Hill and other quality shows.”

The entire cast includes: Crystal Chappell (Claire Preston), Melissa Archer (Evelyn Preston), Sarah Brown (Katherine Wesley), Scott Bryce (Tom Wesley), Ricky Paull Goldin (Andrew Miller), John-Paul Lavoisier (Eric Preston), Alicia Minshew (Sara Preston), Jessica Morrow (Diane Hamilton), Rebecca Mozo (Laura Parker), Ron Raines (William Preston), Tina Sloan(Louise) and Louise Sorel (Emily Tanner).
