The Hoodie Project

Girls Like Boys Clothing teams up with New Alternatives to keep homeless LGBT youths warm this winter.\r

Girls Like Boys Clothing is teaming up with New Alternatives to bring you a deal that will make you look good on the outside and feel great on this inside! Buy one hoodie, and Girls Like Boys will donate one to LGBT youth in need through New Alternatives. Now that is a nice and cosy way to boost your good karma!

Featured in Curve’s gift guide last year, Girls Like Boys clothing is a Brooklyn-based sportswear brand with designs influenced by art, music and pop culture with a cool urban feel. The zip-up hooded sweatshirts being sold and donated are made of a soft yet heavy 10oz cotton/poly blend, sturdy nickel zippers and thick wrist cuffs and waistbands, sure to keep you warm this winter. For this project, the hoodies will be featuring the works of contributing artist Lena Richardson in collaboration with Girls like Boys owner and creative director Holly E. Zmijewski.

New Alternatives are a charity founded in 2008, whose objective is to help homeless LGBT youth, helping them to become self-sufficient and transition into stable adult lives. They provide services such as case management, education services, life skills training, community-building recreational activities, opportunities for self-expression, and support services for HIV+ youth.

The Hoodie Project kicked off on Friday August 29th, 2014. Get yours now to help out a great cause – they even have some great deals such as buy 4 hoodies and they will donate 5 (this could be a great idea for Christmas presents)!
