Standing Stronger Together is the theme for this year’s Sugar and Spice weekend – Manchester’s wellbeing festival for lesbian and bi women hosted by LGBT Foundation.
In a year that has seen women come together to challenge inequalities and discrimination, Sugar And Spice 12: Standing Stronger Together will include a varied programme of social events, workshops and film screenings. Highlights include an alternative tour of the city: Women Walking Manchester, a panel discussion with inspirational women, including politician – Emily Brothers -the first openly trans Labour candidate and Kirsty Devlin – creator of Manchester’s first BME people in tech event, and the welcomed return of Women on Top – a free cabaret and open mic night, taking place on the Saturday evening.
Commenting on the upcoming programme, Claudia Carvell, Women’s Programme Coordinator at LGBT Foundation, said:
“We are so excited to bring you the 12th year of Sugar and Spice, and proud to prioritise inclusion, accessibility and representation throughout. This festival for lesbians and bi women is one of a kind for our community and will be fun, interesting, and welcoming for all!”
