Spotlight On Hailey Wojcik

EP "Book of Beasts"

Hailey Wojcik is known for her dark and witty lyrics and in her latest offering Book of Beasts you can hear exactly why.

XO Skeleton bounces onto our speakers with a funky beat and lyrical line that introduces Wojcik and her voice perfectly.  That same flavor flows into “Dog V Man”, but here there is an atonal sound and hint of 90’s grunge rock building into the chorus.

“Cigarette” continues the fun and as Wojcik sings of smoking down to the filter and burning her fingertips she has guided us to an up-tempo beat with a very punchy underlying bass line.

Moving into the second half of this 5 track EP, “Prosimian” is dark and you can see why some have dubbed her a “Wednesday (from the) Addams Family” of her genre. Rounding out everything is the grungy rock ballad “East Coast”, with a slower beat and featuring a crooner vocal line from Wojcik.

At only 18 minutes this is a short and sharp EP filled with some classic grunge sounds that will take you back and coupled with Wojcik’s style are messed together with ease.
