From All Star To Recording Artist, Sami Grisade Trades Football For Music

Sami Grisafe trades the football field for the music arena.

Recently retired all-star quarterback for the Chicago Force, Sami Grisafe has traded the football for her ukulele and a world of music.  She is set to release two new singles, “Tiny Victories” and “Brand New Fairytale” in February 2015.

It’s true Sami has a voice like Melissa Etheridge (Curve, Nov. 2013) and the attitude to boot.  As you listen to Sami rock and croon through “Tiny Victories” her voice is gravely and has a hard rock slant that draws you into her story.

She declares with feverish enthusiasm that she has indeed got “better things to do” then to ponder love gone—because quite frankly “I’m surprised how long we lasted.”On this track Grisafe has Linsea Waugh on background vocals—Waugh is best known for being half of the Chicago acoustic duo, Acoustic Generation.

“Brand New Fairytale” features Eric Himan, and is a change of pace from “Tiny Victories,” having more of a folk and rock edge to it than the grungy elements of “Tiny Victories.” These tracks are supported by a caliber of musicians and engineers that have been credited with work in connection with Madonna, Foo Fighters, Carrie Underwood, and Sarah McLachlan, to name but a few. In fact, master engineer Adam Ayan has mastered 29 Grammy Award winning recordings.

Drawing on her creative inspiration from musician greats Janis Joplin and Dave Grohl and accompanied by her trusty ukulele, Grisafe is set to follow up her 2012 album Atlantis with a powerhouse album filled with energy, provocative lyrics, and a raft of high profile musicians to back her up. If the first two tracks are a taste of what is yet to come from this talented musician—then we will be in for a real treat.
