Ciara Will Be Headlining The Montreal Pride Festival

In 2019, the Montreal Pride Festival, presented by TD in cooperation with Casino de Montreal, is very proud to offer festivalgoers over 150 activities

R&B singer Ciara will be headlining the Montréal Pride Festival on August 17, at 8 pm, at parc des Faubourgs, the main venue of the festival that will host 20,000 people every night FREE of charge, between August 8‑18, 2019!

With seven albums, including her most recent “Beauty Marks”, totaling more than 23 million sales and many trophies to her name, Ciara will sure cheer the crowd! Not only did she perform her new hit “Thinkin Bout You” this year at the Billboard Awards, but she is also nominated at the 2019 BET Awards, in the category “BET Her Award” for her song “Level Up”. She turned quite a few heads during the 2019 Met Gala with Big Freedia, being recognized for the biggest and best hair look of the night! An important ally of the sexual and gender diversity communities, she had previously told Advocate magazine:

“I can say that I welcome everybody. No one is different from the other. I’m very grateful that I have a diverse group of fans as well. We welcome individuality over here in my world and I think that my fans can see and feel that.”

Parity among the incredible line-up of international and local headliners assembled by Montréal Pride promises great revelry and fun for all!

 

Amongst others, the 2019 Montréal Pride Festival will present the immensely hilarious and queer icon Margaret Cho on August 16, from 8 pm, at parc des Faubourgs. The iconic comedian will take the stage as part of the Excellence show, a QTBIPOC celebration! Also, on August 15, the fourth edition of the international drag queen show Drag Superstars will be presented at 8 pm. This year our audience will have the pleasure of experiencing the live performances of RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants Sasha Velour, Detox, Trinity The Tuck, Naomi Smalls, Yvie Oddly, Latrice Royale, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, A’keria Chanel Davenport, Willam, Brooke Lynn Hytes and Manila Luzon!

On August 17, Montréal Pride Festival is hosting Community Day on the pedestrian portion of Sainte-Catherine Street; Montréal’s main artery! More than 100 Community organizations will showcase their services and share their social message to more than 70 000 people!

 

For the final day, on Sunday August 18, the TD main stage will be the venue for the Mega T-Dance, a greatly sought-after event by the festivalgoers from around the world! This year’s line-up of exceptional international DJs is vying to keep us all dancing to their beats which promises to be more exciting than ever! This year we promise a major surprise with one of the most prominent LGBTQ+ icon ever, which will garner massive attention to help celebrate our wonderfully inclusive festival.
