Cavanagh Shines In ‘Jubilee’

Sapphic fave Megan Cavanagh hits the stage in a modern rendition of the 1935 hit Broadway musical.

Lesbian actress Megan Cavanagh has been a familiar face on-screen for over a decade, most notably for her role as Marla Hooch in A League of Their Own.

You may also recognize her as Chris from the lesbian TV series Exes & Ohs, or from her other television roles on Will & Grace, Friends or ER, just to name a few.

When she isn’t steaming up the big and small screens, Cavanagh takes to the stage with the 42nd Street Moon acting company where she is currently starring in a modern rendition of the 1935 hit Broadway musical Jubilee.

The production chronicles the private pursuits of the royal family of a fictional European country as an imminent revolution threatens their regime—and Cavanagh plays the queen.

Aristocratic responsibilities fly out the window in favor of adventure in this high jink-filled performance, rife with parodies of 1930s celebrities.

While the play is absent of queer content, the twisted plotline is sure to keep you on your toes and illicit more than a few laughs along the way. Jubilee runs November 25th to December 13th at the Eureka Theatre, 215 Jackson St., San Francisco.
