Nothing’s Ever Over proves that things just sometimes aren’t as TeamMate Delivers new eighties driven single

The moment this tracks blasts from my speaker it takes me back to the eighties with its mix of synths, keys and vocals. Nothing’s Ever Over is easy listening and powerfully addictive as the keys form the undercurrent of this ultimate breakup and ultimate friendship makeup song.

TeamMate is in deed the product the break-up of Scott Simons (keys, synths and vocals) and Dani Buncher (vocals and drums); the two were romantically involved for close to a decade before Buncher came out.

As Simons and Buncher taunt at wanting it all “or not at all”, the lyrics are a reflection of their recent romantic breakup with each other.

Instead of forging on without each other in their lives the two formed a musical duo that has produced this single as a celebration of their ability to retain their friendship through the breakup.

As the pair sing “even when it’s not enough to keep the fire burning” they have managed to keep the musical mastery burning as they head down the road where so many other musical exes have been (No Doubt, Fleetwood Mac and the White Stripes).

Add this one to your playlist and turn up the volume.
