Queer Burlesque Strips Off In NYC

‘Belle Jar’ is the latest titillating treat to hit the city that never sleeps!

New Yorkers! If you’re into celebrating hot, strong, diverse queer bodies, then you are in for a treat. On August 10, burlesque performer and first time producer Daddy Longlegs will be serving up one the coolest new burlesque showcases in the city, “Belle Jar.” (If you’re not already in because of the hotties themselves, surely the Plath reference will woo you?)

Daddy Longlegs says the goal of the showcase “is to examine the ways in which mainstream societal norms are detrimental to individuals that do and do not fit within these structures.”

“My goal is to provide a space for queer individuals, people of color, or members of other normally marginalized groups to have a space to share their experience and empower themselves.”

The burlesque showcase also doubles as a fundraiser for the Ali Forney Center, which provides services to homeless LGBTQ youth, so attendance is a massive plus for attendees and LGBTQ community members alike.
