Following six years of success of the ELLA International Festival in Mallorca, and over twelve years of experience as leading provider for lesbian tourism, ELLA will launch an initiative to promote awareness-raising and community efforts for lesbian, bisexual and transgender women.
The initiative is in support of lesbian, bisexual and transgender women.
The idea behind ELLA International Festival was born from the realisation that there were no existing tourism and leisure providers that specialised in lesbian, bisexual and transgender markets. From the beginning, ELLA has dedicated herself to being a social enterprise by giving visibility and support to lesbian, bisexual and transgender women who have their own requirements and needs that are not yet well recognized.
This year, ELLA will launch an initiative in Costa Rica to celebrate and promote the empowerment of lesbian, bisexual and transgender women and raise awareness on their identity, challenges, and aspirations. The initiative will include various social and charitable activities with the aim of empowering this community in the long term in Costa Rica.
In addition, ELLA will host an ELLA International Festival in Costa Rica which will take place from 8 – 22 May across the country and feature tourist activities and excursions, as well as social activities to raise funds and promote engagement with local community projects and women’s initiatives. The Festival will be inaugurated by the first ELLA Talks Costa Rica – Inspiring International Lesbian Conference in San José, Costa Rica on 8 May 2019.
“ELLA is much more than just an entertainment Festival, we work on a daily basis on social impact through collaborating in projects for gender equality, women empowerment and diversity.” Kristin Hansen, CEO & Founder, ELLA
The ELLA International Festival is a celebration of this community – where lesbian, bisexual and transgender women can meet in a fun and safe environment.
