The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls
Hang onto your hats and get ready to laugh—hard. The U.S. theatrical release of The Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls is here. This award-winning documentary by Leanne Pooley tells the story of the world’s only comedic, singing, yodeling lesbian twin sisters, Lynda and Jools Topp, whose brand of hilarity and political awareness has charmed antipodean audiences for thirty years. Hailing from New Zealand but celebrated around the world, this irrepressible Kiwi duo is part vaudeville act, part activists, and we are lucky to have them here: especially after Jools’ battle with cancer (needless to say, she won). As well as rare archival footage and home movies, the documentary treats us to the twins’ best-loved characters, including Camp Mother and Camp Leader, the Bowling Ladies, socialite sisters Prue and Dilly, and man-drag double act, the Two Kens. Grab the July issue of Curve (on stands July 5) for our interview with Jools Topp. For U.S. screening dates visit topptwins.com. And check out the trailer below.

These girls are GORGEOUS. I love them so much. They crack me up every time! I am, of course, a fellow New Zealander, so their humour is something I understand and adore.
What I love most about them is this: they are comfortable with who they are. No facades, no barriers, just 'this is who we are'.
Bless em!

I love these two. Every time I see them I laugh till I cry Of course some of the humour is very much kiwi - but their story is universal especially for every lesbian and every breat cancer survivor. Go see this movie if you have a chance!
This is a terrific lesbian documentary and it is finally coming out on DVD in the US on Nov 8, 2011. You can order a copy from WolfeVideo.com (thanks for your attention to this helpful if somewhat commercial reminder). :-)
