Friday at The Dinah marks the official beginning of Club Skirts’ legendary, beyond monumental, weekend Pool Parties.
Opening the TGIDF Dinah Pool Party is Grammy Award-Winning R&B diva, Evelyn "Champagne" King, bringing her classic old-school jams to The Dinah. The iconic singer will perform her slew of disco hits including "Shame", "I Don't know If It's Right", and "Love Come Down". Get your glad rags on and be ready to boogie down to some classic “good-time” tunes … old-school style!
The early evening will see the return of Club Skirts "Dinah Film Festival" in association with One More Lesbian (OML). The Fest, which debuted last year to immense success, will showcase a variety of hugely popular web series, and present three exclusive world-premieres, including: "Kiss Her I'm Famous", "Little Horribles", "Secrets & Toys", "Girl Get Get", "#Hashtag", God-Des & She Documentary", Nikki & Nora", and "Dyke Central".
The party-centric set will then want to move straight to the Palm Springs Convention Center for the world-renown “White Party” which is presented by Curve Magazine– this is another Dinah annual blowout that promises to be more massive than ever.
Headlining the “White Party” is Iggy Azalea, one of the most hyped MCs/female rapper in American hip-hop. Azalea whizzed into Internet fame as the white girl (now L.A. based) with a raw, no-nonsense delivery, a penchant for dirty talk, and a string of stylized, provocative music videos. She has already garnered buzz with mixtapes ("Ignorant Art," "TrapGold"), her "Glory" Ep, working with her manager and "mentor," T.I., and has more than turned heads with her provocative videos for her hits “Two Times” and “Pu$$y”.
Celebrating its 24th year, Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend delivers another roof-raising celebration that will most definitely blow the lid off the sunny oasis!
Get ready for the 2014 Dinah Shore Weekend … it’s gonna be a BIG one!
