Sexy Sippin’

Published:

The summer movie hit, Sex and the City, is now on DVD. We love this straight version of The L Word—from Patricia Fields, the lesbian fashionista behind Carrie Bradshaw’s style, to the meaty story line for Cynthia Nixon’s Miranda. While you’re watching the movie, sip on a vodka cocktail and feel like a Manhattanite (even if you are wearing Manolo knockoffs) with these recipes from Skyy Vodka (featured in Curve’s December Gift Guide) inspired by the Sex and the City ladies.

Take ’em for a spin:

Carrie
2 oz Skyy Vodka
1 ½ oz Apricot Nectar
1 ½ oz White Cranberry
½ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
½ oz Simple Syrup

Shake with ice and strain into a pre-chilled martini glass. Garnish with a slice of apricot.

Samantha
1 ½ oz Skyy Infusions Grape
¾ oz Cranberry Juice
¼ oz Simple Syrup
2 oz Moet White Star Champagne

Combine Grape, cranberry juice and simple syrup in a tall mixing glass. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a pre chilled Champagne flute and top with White Star. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Charlotte
1 ½ oz Skyy Infusions Passion Fruit
1 ½ oz X-Rated Fusion Liqueur
1 ½ oz Sprite
3 Strawberries

Gently muddle strawberries in a tall mixing glass. Add Skyy Infusions Passion Fruit, X-Rated Fusion Liqueur and ice and shake vigorously. Strain over fresh ice into a Collins glass. Top with Sprite and garnish with a slice of strawberry.

Miranda
1 ½ oz Skyy Infusions Citrus
1 ½ oz Grapefruit Juice
1/8 Fresh Lime Juice
1 ½ oz Ginger Ale

Prepare Skyy Citrus, grapefruit juice and lime in a tall mixing glass. Add ice and shake vigorously. Strain over fresh ice into a Collins glass. Top with ginger ale and garnish with a wedge of lime.
