Tis The Season To Be Boot Stompin’!

Antigone Rising Throws A Special Holiday Party Show! At New York’s Bitter End

Shake up your Friday night with a concert that will leave you pumped up and dancing!

Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM (EST) the all-female-boot-stompin'-alt-country-rock band will be hosting an exclusive Holiday Party and perform live at legendary NYC venue The Bitter End along with Chris Tapper. Both artists will do full length sets and there are bound to be some musical surprises. This is a CAN'T MISS event!

Known for their unique and electrifying live performances featuring toe-tapping beats and powerful vocals, Antigone Rising is of of those rare bands best to experience live.

With an enduring success that ensures constant touring, it’s hard to find a band currently busier than Antigone Rising. In addition to extensively touring across the US, Antigone Rising is also running a packed promotional campaign for not just one but TWO brand new EPs for 2014: the already released Whiskey & Wine – Volume 1 and the upcoming Whiskey & Wine – Volume 2.

The first single, titled “That was the Whiskey,” co-written with Nashville songwriter Lori McKenna (Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Hunter Hayes), premiered on CMT trending in the Top 10, and was nominated in the "Country Song" Category at The 13th Annual Independent Music Awards. Watch the YouTube video: http://youtu.be/VA11MDYhd24)

The band was founded by sisters Kristen Ellis-Henderson and Cathy Henderson, and released several albums through independent labels before signing with Lava Records in 2003. After a few shifting band members, drummer Tauriello and lead singer/ rhythm guitarist Nini Camps completed the quartet.

The ladies of Antigone Rising have also played a part in LGBTQ advocacy, making news last April when Kristin Ellis-Henderson appeared on the cover of Time Magazine with her wife Sarah Kate Ellis-Henderson, the president/CEO of GLAAD, for a feature on marriage equality. In fact, the band pledges to donate 5% of their earnings to GLAAD from the two-volume Whiskey and Wine, (Volume 2 is due October 28) by partnering with Pledgemusic.com.

Antigone Rising is the first band on Starbuck’s Hear Music (Lava Records) that exploded into the spotlight selling over 150,000 copies of their debut LP and landing in the top 20 of the “Billboard Heatseekers” chart for an entire year.

Since then Antigone Rising has toured with such prestigious acts as The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, The Allman Brothers Band, The Bangles and Rob Thomas.  In 2012, the US government invited them to tour the Middle East as cultural ambassadors, and they left impressed by music’s ability to cross cultural boundaries

The success of Antigone Rising has quite literally been driven by the overwhelming support of their fans, with two fan-funded albums, including 2013’s critically acclaimed 23 Red.

The fab four have already been turning up everywhere, including on the pages of Curve Magazine, Billboard, Out Magazine, Buzzfeed, AfterEllen and the Huffington Post. And they've appeared on The Today Show and The Tonight Show, among others.
