In yet another role as a lesbian, the apparently straight Cate Blanchett delivers an incredible performance. Yes, she plays a predatory lesbian, but her character is deeply layered and nuanced. It’s a powerful film. Still, it’s disappointing at a time when LGBTQ+ viewers have yet to see enough positive images of ourselves on-screen.
