Statement of inclusivity: This Lesbian Visibility Week, let’s embrace our theme: “Unified, Not Uniform” We’re a diverse bunch, but together, we’re unstoppable. At The Curve Foundation, inclusivity isn’t just a buzzword. It’s at the heart of everything we do. Throughout LVW, let’s celebrate our differences and uplift everyone, especially people of color, trans, non-binary, and marginalized community members. This week, let’s ensure everyone feels seen, heard, valued, and energized!

As Lesbian Visibility Week arrives, we’re bursting with excitement to unveil the inaugural Curve Power List, a celebration of 50 LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary individuals who are creating seismic shifts in the United States. From sports and entertainment icons to corporate leaders and politicians, these individuals are breaking barriers, challenging norms, and leaving an indelible mark on our community and beyond.

Picking this list was challenging, to say the least. We aimed to represent diverse voices and perspectives based on myriad public nominations. We were happily surprised to receive nearly one thousand nominations! Some nominations were submitted by peers, mentors or employers who knew the candidates personally. Others came from fans, throwing out their favorite sports heroes, celebrities or political and nonprofit movers and shakers. All in all, narrowing down a thousand entries worthy of recognition to a powerful, diverse list of fifty was painstakingly difficult. But we stuck to our plan and kept the list to 50, keeping this year’s LVW theme of “Unified, Not Uniform” in mind.

We know that everyone’s list would be different. Let’s not forget that this list is anything but static. It’s a living, breathing testament to the ever-evolving landscape of LGBTQ+ achievement. What was true yesterday may not hold true tomorrow, and that’s the beauty of progress. We consider this year a starting point, recognizing this group’s monumental impact on shaping culture, policy, and social change. But make no mistake—this is just the beginning. Next year, we plan to expand our list, ensuring that more facets of LGBTQ+ excellence are celebrated.

So, as we enter Lesbian Visibility Week, let’s not just celebrate; let’s amplify. Join us in honoring these luminaries, these game-changers, these curve-shapers. Let’s elevate the stories of these remarkable individuals, ignite conversations, and inspire action. Because when LGBTQ+ voices are heard, the world becomes a more vibrant, inclusive place for us all.
