Editors Movie Pick: ‘All About E’ Starring Mandahala Rose

All About E

First feature of writer/director Louise Wadley and produced by Jay Rutovitz, ALL ABOUT E stars Mandahla Rose as young Arabic Australian Elmira, or E as she insists on being called.

E seems to have it all. She’s a hot sexy DJ at Sydney’s top gay nightclub and has her pick of the girls.

But E doesn’t have a clue about how much of a mess her life has become.

She’s not out to her traditional Lebanese family, she’s abandoned her beloved music and she’s lost Trish, the one relationship that really matters to her. When she stumbles on a stash of cash, she and her best friend and husband of convenience, Matt, are forced to run.

But E finds she has burnt too many bridges, and there is nowhere to run but outback Australia and the arms of the ex-girlfriend who broke her heart. Can she keep the money, conquer her demons, AND get the girl?

Louise Wadley said, “I wanted to make a film about Australia that showed Australians are many different kinds of people and a story that brought the country and city together and like Muriel’s Wedding I wanted a film with a complex heroine with a lot going on, but also a really entertaining ride.”

The music score by Australian composer Basil Hogios (AFI nomination for Romulus, My Father) features hypnotic world music by award-winning musician and internationally acclaimed performer Joseph Tawadros, ARIA winner for three consecutive years.

ALL ABOUT E is produced by Girls’ Own Pictures, set up in 2009 to make original stories with distinctive and exciting female lead characters.
