New York State’s Got Pride

I Love NY LGBT helps you plan your Pride getaway in The Empire State.

Summer is here and what better way to celebrate Pride than in the city that never sleeps.  I Love NY LGBT, is here to help you celebrate in New York State from June 5th to July 19th. Summer is the perfect time to get out and visit those parts of New York State you’ve always wanted to experience.

Let’s take a look at some of N.Y.C.’s fabulous Pride events. Uptown, the SGL/LGBTQ Pride Organization celebrates its 5th anniversary of Harlem Pride, which takes place between June 22nd and 29th. The iconic NYC Pride March is not to be missed and after the march, skip over to the New York City Pride Fest  on June 29th. In its 20th year, the festival combines vendors, entertainers, and activities in the name of equality.

On July 12th, Staten Island LGBT Community Center presents the 10th Annual Staten Island Pride. A party to celebrate diversity and community, it’s a party for everyone—not just for LGBT people of Staten Island.

Save the date for the Bronx LGBT Pride & Health Fair on July 19th. Taking place at Crotona Park at 12 PM, the event will be filled with entertainment, awards, speakers, free health services, and more.

There’s plenty to choose from out of the city, too. Upstate, why not ‘Unmask Your True Colors’ in Rochester? This year, Rochester Pride Festival takes place from July 18th -20th with an amazing carnival theme.  Immerse yourself in fun, glitz, music, glamour, entertainment, family activities, food, and more.

Celebrating the Hudson Valley’s LGBT community, Big Gay Hudson Valley presents the first ever Queen City Pride Expo in Poughkeepsie, from June 5th-8th. The classic “Pride Preview Weekend” has a new date, time, and events; but don’t worry the Big Gay Summer Picnic has remained and will be celebrated once again at Locust Grove.

Are you a dancing machine? In Our Own Voices presents the 8th annual, Say It Loud! Black and Latino Gay Pride, taking place in Albany from June 5th– 8th. It is a celebration for the LGBT People of Color communities living through the Capital Region. There’s more to experience in Albany. Hear Motown legend Thelma Houston perform at Capital Pride  from June 5th– 14th. Or for a more family friendly atmosphere visit VCS Gay Pride Rockland in Nyack on June 8th.

The Binghamton Coalition presents Pride Palooza on June 14th in Binghamton. The 9th Annual Pride celebration held throughout June celebrates and welcomes all members of the LGBTQ community, their allies, and supporters.  Tracing its origins to over 20 years ago, the Long Island Pride Parade is known as the largest one outside of NYC. So why not celebrate Long Island Pride in Huntington beginning June 13th until June 21st.

On June 21st you have the option of visiting Syracuse to celebrate Central New York  Pride beginning at 12 PM, or visit Hudson to celebrate the 5th annual Hudson Pride at 2PM.

As the most desired travel location for the LGBT community, NY State Pride celebrations are sure to be exciting, informative, and fabulous. NY offers a warm welcome with its rich history pertaining to the LGBT community and vibrant arts and entertainment scene.
