GirlPlay Toronto 4th Annual Pride Festival

GirlPlay Toronto and its affiliates (Toastr, Snatch, Lick It), have been a staple in the Toronto Women’s Club scene for over 10 years. Since 2014, GirlPlay Toronto has created a successful Pride festival that attracts thousands of women. This year, we are excited to announce that their 4th annual Pride programming now has something for everyone!

 

Between Friday, June 16, 2017 and Sunday, June 25th, 2017, women who identify as lesbian, bi, queer, curious, trans, two spirited, from all walks of life can enjoy: Casual Mixers, A Comedy Show, Epic Ragers, Venues with options to dance, mingle, play pool or chill outside, and a big outdoor T-Dance at our favorite Church Street Venue! They also have the most outstanding local female talent our great city has to offer.

 

Below is a brief write-up of the programming:

 

Beginning June 16th, GirlPlay Toronto in partnership with Pride Toronto kick off Pride 2017 with “Lick It”, featuring west coast rapper Lil Debbie (Cali.), a double drumming set by KLR and Rosie, and local DJs Ticky Ty and Recklezz at The Phoenix Concert Theatre.

 

Wednesday, June 21st, mix, mingle and dance at this mid-week mixer at SMITH, the most beautiful and nuanced venue on the Church Street strip with upcoming talented DJ duo, Mavis and Okaay.

 

Thursday, June 22nd, get ready to giggle, at “Giggles”. Hosted by Elvira Kurt, headlined by Adrienne Fish and featuring sets by Martha Chaves, Chantel Marostica, Dawn Whitwell, Ashley Moffatt, and Deanne Smith. This is literally the dream team of lezzy comedians all rolled up into one Thursday night at The Comedy Bar. 2 shows. Early show doors at 7:17, late show, doors at 9:15.

 

Friday, June 23rd, Several prominent party promoters partner once again on Toronto’s waterfront to throw “Juicebox” at Noir, inside Rebel. With over 1000 women in attendance, Juicebox is the largest indoor women’s party of pride! Local DJ faves Sticky Cuts, KLR and Recklezz bring the jams, while Toronto dance crew Girls Club take a break from dancing for Lady Gaga, to come dance for us.

 

Saturday, June 24th, “Toastr Throwback” is kicking it to The Raq on Queen where party go-ers can dance, mingle, play pool, and hang out on a patio, while scream-singing old school songs from days past; played by the always excellent DJ pair of Lucie Tic and Sticky Cuts.

 

Sunday, June 25th, GirlPlay Toronto’s 9th Annual outdoor T-dance in partnership with Pride Toronto is the summer love-fest of pride. The undisputed, top notch, queen of the ball, quintessential Sunday party of pride is back, and it’s bigger and lovelier than ever before! Located at 580 Church Street, two patios, two sounds, all-star female DJ lineup of Miz Megs, KLR, Marina (MTL), Steph Honey, Lilly Russner, Stix, and Foxtrott guaranteed to tear up the placer the final Pride hurrah!
