10 holiday date ideas for those looking for a kiss under the mistletoe this Christmas

Christmas is the most romantic time of the year. The lights, warms fires, mitts and cocoa. Everything about it just makes us want to cosy up with that special someone. Now is the perfect time to make your Yuletide Gay, and take your Ms Claus on a holiday date. Whether it's your first date or 34th Christmas together, we've got a romantic holiday date suggestion for you.

1. Go and see the Christmas lights

Whether on foot or by car, pack up a couple of your favourite warm drinks and head out to see a display near you.

2. Watch a Santa Claus parade

Most cities have them. Many people think they're just for kids, but I dare you to not get excited when Santa makes his appearance.

3. Bake some Christmas treats

A little dusting of flour on her face, a stolen kiss and a nibble of sweets. What gets more romantic than that?

4. Festive Netflix and Chill

This one is great for those of you with super busy holiday schedules. It quite literally requires no prep other then picking up a few snacks. All you have to do is turn on your Christmas tree lights and curl up with a holiday classic. Bliss.

5. Ice skating

This is not only romantic in Hollywood movies – it really is all hand holding and cuteness. Can we be real for a second? Is anything cuter than holding hands with mittens on? No.

6. Give back

Put on a Christmas jumper and head out into the community to do some good. Whether that's serving dinner at a shelter or volunteering at a food bank, doing something good together will leave you both feeling merry and bright.

7. Build a snowman

Get all the fixings together and head outside to make a snow-man or person… Hey, what is gender anyway? For a bonus, throw in a snow angel competition. Always makes for some fun falling around.

8. Visit a Christmas tree farm

Even if you can't fit one in your flat, it's an opportunity to see your boo in her best plaid and rosy cheeks. #lumbersexual

9. Make a Gingerbread house together

No skill needed – it's really just about teamwork and eating icing sugar.

10. Make stockings for each other

Expert or novice. It's a fun way to get in the spirit together and have something you can put out every year.

So there you have it. 10 ways to dyke your halls this Christmas.
