talking Sex "There's a stereotype that lesbians don't have sex very often, and when they do, it dies out after they've settled in together," says Felice Newman, author of The Whole Lesbian Sex Book. "That is so untrue. I've talked to many lesbians who are certainly having a lot of sex."
Newman, a founding editor at Cleis Press, which has published books by such writers as Pat Califia, Susie Bright and Joan Nestle, says she wrote the book because she felt someone sure needed to. "So many of the sex books on the market are so cheesy," Newman says. "My book is very instructional and it's for all women -- lesbian, bisexual, butch, transsexual or whatever. I talk frankly about how to have and improve orgasms, cunnilingus, fisting, safe sex -- everything you've always wanted to know about sex, but couldn't find on the bookshelves."
Next project? Although she wouldn't reveal many details, Newman said that she is collaborating on a new sex book with Survivor's Guide to Sex author Staci Haines. We think the project is destined for the growing best-seller list at Cleis Press.
