Regina entry 04

The last time Regina told her troubles to her diary, she was moping because she had no one to talk to and felt all alone.

Since then, however, it seems that someone special has rocked her world ...

Can I just say ... OH MY GOD. Stop the presses, stop traffic, stop everything! I now have proof that angels exist, because one walked into my Bio class today and OH MY GOD. A beautiful scruffy angel, and I'm apparently her next convert ...

Here's the brief bio, according to what I could pick up by observation and "casually" asking around: her name's Jude (short for Judith I guess, I don't know, maybe that'll be my pick-up question), she just moved here from California, and she's half-Jewish and half-Italian. She's absolutely adorable, sort of small and dark with a crew cut and a nose ring and double-pierced ears. When she walked into class today, she was wearing baggy jeans, Docs, a T-shirt with some punk band on it, and a backwards baseball cap. She looked kind of tough but her smile was so sweet, though a little nervous like she thought someone was going to jump her. It was a possibility, actually -- there are a lot of jerks in that Bio class, and they were all whispering.

ANYway, I spent the ENTIRE class staring at her, or at least trying really really hard NOT to stare at her, which was probably even more obvious. I tried to concentrate, but then my mind wandered as I tried to decide on the perfect adjective for her beautiful skin ... mocha? hazelnut latte? (It was first period, so it's no wonder I was stuck on coffee comparisons.) She knew I was looking, because she snuck a glance over her shoulder and grinned at me. It's such a teeny-bopper thing to say, but I'll say it -- I nearly DIED. And THEN the most embarrassing thing happened ... as we were all getting up to go, she turned again and smiled at me, and I was so dazed I walked straight into the door jamb and fell backwards smack on my butt. Everyone saw it, they started howling with laughter while I turned fire-engine red and sprinted for the girls' bathroom. I'm SO smooth, aren't I? I ALWAYS do things like that! Well, I guess there's one good thing -- I won't have to let her know I like her, because she obviously already knows!

How should I approach her? I always used to let guys do all the work, but I don't know what girls usually expect, and definitely not what this one expects! Should I serenade her? "Accidentally" hammer her thumb in shop class and then offer her a Band-Aid? Or just look her up in the phone book? I happened to "casually" ask someone what her last name was, too. I swear, I have the subtlety of a freight train when it comes to matters of the heart! But it just feels so good to have a crush.

Bye for now
<*smooches*>
