About the New Album All That We Let In is the extraordinary new studio release from the Indigo Girls on Epic Records. Produced by Peter Collins, who produced Become You as well as their 1994 album Swamp Ophelia, All That We Let In is already being hailed as a landmark achievement in the Girls’ history. The album’s first single, “Perfect World,” can now be heard on radio stations across the country.
This innovative album displays the breadth of the band’s talent. Amy Ray takes a lead in some tracks, differing from her typically rhythmic role in previous albums. Emily Saliers introduces a fresh sound as she adds mandolin and high-string guitar to her battery of instruments. These adjustments flow well with the tried-and-true sounds of their longtime backup band: bassist Clare Kenny, keyboardist Carol Isaacs and drummer Brady Blade (also of Emmylou Harris’s band, and currently on the road with Dave Matthews). Singer extraordinaire Joan Osborne once again adds her distinct backing vocals to the Girls on “Heartache for Everyone,” “Tether” and “Rise Up.”
