It’s a funny phrase — one that is simultaneously frivolous and also terribly, vitally important. We want to see and be seen. We expect validation from those around us. But how complicated the situation becomes when there is a veil over our lives. Who sees us then? Yet when we look honestly, when we look seriously, when we look playfully and when we look sharply at our lives, we see beyond the veil. And then, everything looks just fine.
