Julia also finds herself falling in love with the beautiful and alluring Captain Simone Moreau. They say that love conquers all, but can love conquer across centuries, fate, and time itself?

Dr Julia Blanchard is a marine archaeologist who has spent many months excavating a shipwreck off the Georgia coast that her team has nicknamed “The Georgia Peach.”  Although they learn quite a bit about the nineteenth century sailing vessel, they have found nothing that would reveal the identity of the ship and why it is in this part of the ocean. Consumed by the excavation, Julia forgets her girlfriend’s birthday.  Flying home she finds Amy in bed with another woman.  Heartbroken, Julia breaks the rules of scuba diving and visits the ship alone, even though a violent storm is approaching.  While she is below the sea, the storm hits earlier than Julia expected and she is separated from her dive boat, drifting, half dead in the Atlantic Ocean.

Julia is rescued by a sailing ship, and as she slowly recovers, bit by bit she explores the ship, only to realise it is the “Georgia Peach” which she has been studying, but its true identity is Le Falcón, a French sailing ship and it has a female captain, Simone Moreau.  As Julia tries to understand what has happened to her, she takes part in the ship’s travels to the island of Martinique, the eastern Caribbean islands, the Louisiana German Coast and New Orleans at the close of the War of 1812.

Whilst sailing on the ship, Julia tries to discover how the “Peach”  but the now named “The Hawk”, has come to rest in the waters off the Georgia coast and what happened to her crew and captain.

Julia also finds herself falling in love with the beautiful and alluring Captain Simone Moreau.

Eventually, Julia has to face the fact that, if she finds her way back to her own time, with friends and family, will it mean sacrificing her true love and happiness with Captain Simone Moreau?

Julia tries an experiment to find a way to return to her own time. If successful, she will start a long and exhausting search for her beloved soul mate, Simone Moreau, who has promised Julia, that she will be somewhere in Julia’s time.

They say that love conquers all, but can love conquer across centuries, fate, and time itself?

The author Brenda Adcock weaves a mesmerising story that will keep you captivated to the last page and the ending itself, truly fascinating.
