Out artist Laurie Lipton talks about her new book, The Drawings of Laurie Lipton. This is the kind of talent that you absolutely have to check out. Her drawings are described as surreal and “obsessively detailed,” which is pretty accurate. [advocate]

Tilda Swinton is our hero, showing more and more support for the gay community in Russia as the days go by. The latest buzz is that she has donated over $1600 to the funeral of Russian gay rights activist Alexey Davydov. Go Tilda go! [pinknews]

Last week, Autostraddle reported that TV just isn’t gay enough this season, but today they’ve turned their lezzie lens on the new Fall line up to uncover which new TV characters must be lesbians. They’re not out, but while the heteronormative world assumes they’re straight, we’re just going to assume they’re gay. Cool? [autostraddle]

In the last issue of Entertainment Weekly, Michelle Rodriguez had a casual chat about going both ways, not that it’s anybody’s business but her own. Season 2 of lesbian web series Kiss Her I’m Famous will star Noureen DeWulf of TV’s Anger Management, and we’re also excited to see the return of The Real L Word’s Tracy Ryerson. Season 2 is set to air January 2014. [allthingslesbeau]

In WNBA news, Diana Taurasi kissed Seimone Augustus mid-game, and we have the footage. It started out as an on-court confrontation, but they literally kissed and made up on the spot. [afterellen]

We knew Tina Fey would host an SNL to remember, and indeed, everyone is talking about her gut-bustingly brilliant parody of Girls, which features a new character: Berta the Albanian new girl. The skit highlights Hannah’s self-obsession and, well, all of the girls’ flaws, really. It’s a killer vid. [buzzfeed]

Lady Gaga releases the remix package for her debut single “Applause.” Give this one by Goldhouse a listen. The whole Artpop album drops Nov. 11, so there are more beats coming real soon! [gagamedia]
