Watch: “Good People in Love”

Check out the trailer for the juicy new web drama from the creator of “Anyone But Me.”

A producer, writer and director for the stage and the screen, Tina Cesa Ward has become a notable new voice in the emerging medium of web television. Her award-winning web series Anyone But Me is in its last season, but fans of Ward’s frank depiction of modern relationships will have a whole new cast of characters to obsess over when Good People in Love airs on Blip.tv this fall.

While Anyone But Me revolves around teenaged New Yorker Vivian McMillian’s ongoing struggle with her lesbian identity, Good People in Love tackles decidedly more mature themes: marriage, infidelity, secrecy and manipulation. The premise goes something like this: On the eve of New York passing the equal marriage bill, a group of friends gather for a dinner party celebrating one couple’s engagement. As the night unfolds, four guests become the unsuspecting subjects of a bet between the series’ two feuding narrators, each of which is determined to prove that they’re philosophy on love holds true.

The trailer offers only a tiny taste of the entanglements to come, but if Ward’s previous work is any indication, the miniseries is likely to make for some steamy streaming.
