Season 2 of The Big C is coming our way, with Laura Linney back as Cathy Jamison, a woman with Stage 4 melanoma trying to hold it all together. But more imporatantly Cynthia Nixon is back as Rebecca, Cathy’s best friend. And even better, her role is supposed to be even bigger this season and we can’t wait.
When you’re Tim Pawlenty, you brag about what you’ve done to make life harder for gay people and women. He has done stuff like adding extra restrictions and waiting periods for women seeking abortions, calling it the "Woman's Right To Know Act." Because it’s all about women’s rights. Pawlenty has been touring with his book, Courage To Stand. While in San Francisco last week Code Pink activists confronted him at a book signing and did what we all want to do—they dumped glitter on him. Code Pink said, “If elected, GOP Presidential candidate said he would reinstate Don't Ask, Don't Tell (the ban on openly-gay service). He vetoed a bill in MN that would have allowed surviving partners of same-sex couples the right to decide what to do with their loved one's deceased body, because he believes in "traditional marriage." Watch Code Pink in action:
And Pawlenty wasnt the only one to get the glitter treatment. Presidential hopeful and lesbian-phobic Michelle Bachmann was also glitter bombed at a RightOnline Rally. I wonder if this qualifies as another "kidnapping attempt."

On the total opposite end of the spectrum, Glee just keeps getting gayer—and by that we mean it's finally getting a much needed lesbian voice. The show has hired six new writers for its upcoming third season including lesbian producer (center) Allison Adler (Chuck, No Ordinary Family Commander in Chief) and Marti Noxon (Buffy, Angel, Mad Men). The crew of new writers will hopefully add depth to the show and focus the storylines. Maybe now we’ll finally know what happened to Coach Beiste.
Syrian refugees have been fleeing their government’s bloody crackdown for months, many taking solace in Turkey. The U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, also known as the smokin’ hot Angelina Jolie, visited a refugee camp in Altinozu, 12 miles from the Syrian border. While there, she spoke with a number of the 1,700 refugees to hear their stories. She said in a statement, "The people in this camp have fled in fear for their lives, and many told me they were distraught about the safety of loved ones still in Syria." Saint Angie for president!
