Congrats to the very brave Chely Wright for coming out. Some media outlets have noted her as the first country female to come out. It should be remembered that our very own Canadian super star, kd lang came out about 20 years ago!!

KD Lang is not considered "country" in the states...I listen to a lot of country and not ONCE have they played a KD lang song. I love KD she's an awesome singer but this is why everyone is saying that Chely is the first.
Personally, I don't care whether she is the first country music star to come out, or if k.d. lang is. I'm just glad she's out, proud, and I hope, happy!

I wish Ms Wright nothing but good luck. I have heard her latest CD and it it great...it is inspired...this is coming from someone who is not a "country" fan....after hearing CW CD I am a whole hearted Chely Wright fan. There are blessings ahead for Chely.
