Thanks for including "When Night is Falling". You are spot on with all your pics, but this is such a beautiful film, that has been overlooked. Hope all can see it.

i love this web site and i love getting info on my lesbian movies and i am stilling looking for that one spec. women my name is tiffany
thanks for this good list...and thanks for NOT including Elena Undone. So not romantic or sexy. Desert Hearts remains timeless.
Loving Annabelle is one of my favorites...
I've seen Desert Hearts and love it, but I also loved Better Than Chocolate and Mulholland Drive (if you're more into the artsy/thriller vein).
Would love to order ALL these movies! How and where can I do this?
One movie that I feel needs to be on this list is "Claire of the Moon" a timeless classic like "Desert Hearts and "When Night is Falling".
WHAT?!? loving annabelle was amazing especially the song she wrote for her i sang it to my ex hahaha well obviously wrong choice but that movie always makes me smile :}
I'm sorry but I honestly think that only three of these six are good lesbian movies. I can give you a whole list that fills a page of excellent lesbian films and TV shows BUT more importantly - why is it that every time there's an article (like this one) written about "must see lesbian movies" the same six - ten are always on the list? A lot of these are good but, let's face it some of these are utter shite. Seriously, the ONLY reason any of us would actually sit through some of the plots of these non-trophy beauties is because we're lesbians and we're starved for good representations of art imitating our lives! Anyway that's my rant. Any body wanna have a lesbian movie-off (back and forth of good lesbian movies)? Oh and to the writer of this article - watch a few more lesbian flix before weighing in on the movie-off kitten ;)
Here they are always:
1. All Over Me
2. Itty Bitty Titty Committee
3. Heavenly Creatures
4. Chutney Popcorn
5. But I'm A Cheerleader
6. If These Walls Could Talk 2
7. Tipping The Velvet
8. Imagine Me & You
9. Desert Hearts
10. Bound
