CoverGirl spokesmodel Queen Latifah once again become fodder for the gay rumor mill last week when the New York Post’s famous gossip column Page Six reported spotting her dancing the night away with—wait for it—women.
Latifah reportedly entered Country Club’s weekly lesbian party on Aug. 5 with five beautiful women in tow.
“She chilled for several hours, ordering bottle service for her friends and chatting up promoter Maggie Collier,” a spy for Page Six said.
The blogosphere lit up with rumors of Latifah’s Sapphic leanings in 2007 when MediaTakeOut.com broke the news that she was planning to officially come out as a lesbian and announce her engagement to her personal trainer, Jeanette Jenkins. This was after Page Six wrote about an unnamed celebrity who was planning to come out of the closet and announce an engagement...sound similar?
But as the rumors spread across the web, Latifah ducked and weaved, saying in an interview with Ebony magazine, “No comment on that at all. I’m done commenting on all that.”
The former rapper turned actress continued, saying, “It feels so invasive. It’s the one thing I don’t think people need to know about.”
For now we don’t have an official word on whether Latifah’s night of dancing at a lezzie bar means she’s one of us. However, should her story change, the talented and curvaceous star would no doubt be welcomed into our camp with open arms.

My wife has a `short list` - women with whom she could step out with if they came knocking on the door... Queen Latifah is at the top of the list! I completely understand why & am okay with it because it`s so improbable. Dream on Honey!

I personally would love to have "The Queen" come out as one of our own....When she's ready to come out of course. Now as far as what/who she shares her intimate time with is her business and the lucky man or woman that gets to share time with her I'm sure has a wonderful time!... We need women of character like her to stand up and be heard....She is loved by so many...And let's face it...She's Beautiful...not everyday we have a real woman with curves and character...As an event photographer the biggest surprise for me about most Cali women in the media You'd have to "Shake The Sheets To Find 'Em before you could make love to 'em" And both lesbians and men alike love the soft curves on a ladies body =)

She is one of us. Worked with her back in the day and trust me she is playing for our team. She needs to come out and represent already. We need more out and open role models and she certainly fits the bill.
When some actors and actresses "come out" their careers suffer. She knows this and is carefully exercising her options. I respect her choices and so might we all. She's not my type though.

Yes, of course she is. Duh. Now if only Jada (Pinkett-Smith) and Alicia (Keys) would come out, we'd all breathe a little easier. Their closetedness fills me with angst!
We all come out of our closet in our own time if ever... I'm just happy that she feels welcome in our bars and is willing to come out that far and hang with us in public. Wouldn't you all like to dance with her one evening... Now that is a WOW in my Book!!!
