This is the quintessential coming out story. In high school, I got involved with our theatre group and was cast in a production of Peter Pan. I had started to question my sexuality earlier that year, when I started to fall for an older student who I played on the soccer and softball teams with (who had recently come out herself). Of course, that same woman was cast in the role of Peter Pan. For the end of the show, she was asked to play the acoustic guitar while the final narration was being said. The song she selected was the Indigo Girls’ “Ghost”. Listening to her each time we rehearsed made me swoon, and ultimately allowed me to embrace fully my sexuality. I came out not too long after that, and have been a devoted Indigo Girls fan ever since.

This past month, eight years since my coming out, I took my girlfriend to see the Indigo Girls on their current tour for her first IG live experience. True to form, their amazing show made her a devoted fan too!

My most favorite Indigo Girls moment was when I went to see them at Milwaukee Fest about 5 years ago. It was my first concert.... everybody was standing on the benches so that they could see them from far away. It was so surreal finally seeing them and being in a swarm of beautiful women from all over! SO---I sat down for a moment to kind of take in my surroundings... little did I know that when I sat down, I was looking up at a ton of women all around me.... and boy did I love the view in front of me.... a whole row of women shaking their butts at my eye level!!!! I will NEVER forget that!!!

I am nothing big but I hope one day to be as big..So if I win I will be greatful but if I don't I hope wins loves them as much as I do..That is all I am going say becouse I do not want to zzzing any one..
