Exclusive: Athena Reich's "The Logical Song" Music Video Premiere

Published:

OutMusic Award-winner Athena Reich has garnered accolades for both her indie pop music and her teaching artist consulting work in the New York City public schools. She recently finished filming a provocative video for her cover of Supertramp’s “The Logical Song,” premiering here.

“I grew up listening to 'Breakfast in America.' It’s just one of those songs everyone loves. No one really covered it and I thought why not? It fits the message of my music, which is about overcoming adversity and triumphing no matter what. I’ve been through shit and I’m not just coming out of it, but coming out with my humor intact and sexiness and everything.”

The song is on her fifth CD, “Little Girl Dreams” (the title song garnered Reich an OutMusic Award for best pop song of the year in 2009). Maria Colaco choreographed and Reich’s drummer, Glenn Firester, has a cameo in the video.

To say Reich is über sexy in the video is an understatement. She exudes a sultry innocence that will leave you wondering why this talented chick is still single.

Curve is my niche audience, it’s my people and, I’m a huge fan,” Reich says of debuting her video with us.
