In celebration of the release of her fourth studio album, called Come What May, singer/songwriter Crys Matthews is hosting an official album release party at Notaviva Vineyards in Purcellville, VA on Sunday, May 18th from 2pm-5pm.

Come What May was recorded at The Studios at Notaviva Vineyards by producer and vineyard owner Stephen Mackey. When he and his wife Shannon branded their vineyard they decided to build it around their passion for music. Notaviva is an aggregation of two words: nota, meaning music note, and viva, meaning with life. “When I came up with the word, it was intended to convey music’s impact on human emotion. Notaviva is that feeling you get when you hear your favorite song,” Mackey said. The completion of this project marks the third collaboration for Mackey and Crys Matthews. “I wouldn’t have wanted to celebrate the release of this album any other place,” Matthews said.

A departure both musically and lyrically from her earlier works, this album bridges the gap between contemporary folk and Americana with simple, honest storytelling set to great music that helps you feel every word. From the title track (a love song, sparked by a furlough) to “You Remind Me” (three love stories rolled up into a history lesson), Come What May is a beautiful and heartfelt commentary on the belief that the personal is political and the political is personal.
