Spanning the two major North Carolina cities of Durham and Raleigh, the statewide annual NC PrideFest Celebration is one of the largest gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered event in North Carolina and one of the largest in the surrounding states of South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee. Attendance is over 8500 marchers and participants with hundreds more spectators. The 3-day festival will take place on Duke University's East Campus and will include a parade, day festival, night festival, conferences, staged events and dances.
Forty one percent of those attending are from the Triangle Area. The other fifty nine percent come from the other cities of North Carolina, and the adjoining states of South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, West Virginia and Maryland.
